COVID and Flu Vaccine together as one?

In December of 2022, will the COVID vaccine and the flu vaccine be given in the same shot?

The real estate market is insane. I do not know what to make of it. The have's seem to have more and more to spend while the have-not's can't imagine ever affordingfor a down payment.

retail rebound?

If people are going to permanently work from home, as some insist, then human need to get out of the house will create a demand for more retail, restaurant, and movies than ever.

100% Commission Based Income

The beauty of living solely off of commission is that you never have to worry about being too well rested.

Santa Catalina Blues

This picture represents three less than pleasant days with three delightful stories. Summer 2018 burned a few calories and tested my soul.

Ride Share Economy

I think we are in a brief, but a wonderful moment in time. With an app, I can make a poor living. Nonetheless, it's a living. Where once a person would have to settle for no income while having no job, now one can go to work the same day. While trying to start a new business as well as re-enter the world of real estate, I can make a few hundred dollars during evenings and weekends while pursuing my ventures during the week.

How did I just lose a year like nothing?

Crap. I was worried about not making a post before 2016 ended and now I see I never made a post for 2015.

How did I just lose a year like nothing? A whole freaking year. It's like losing your couch. How can that happen? It's so big!

Presidential Hate

Obama has Benghazi; Bush 2 has 9/11; Clinton has the embassy bombings; Bush 1 has the Tiananmen Square massacre; Reagan has the Beirut barracks bombing. Horrible things happen during every presidency. Do you hate every President? Would a different President have stopped all the bad that other people do? It's one thing to hate policy. It's another thing to hate the President. Maybe you didn't vote for some of them, but your fellow Americans did. Haven't you ever heard God, Country, Family, Self? Notice, 'Country' is #2, 'Self' is #4. The country and constitutional process volunteers protect elected all of our Presidents, even if you didn't.

Take a step back and look at things through a fellow American's eyes. If you were an 18-year-old Mexican-American with a 19-year-old 'illegal' brother, how would you feel about the DREAM Act? If you were an epileptic that previously couldn't get health insurance, how would you feel about Obamacare? What if you were the owner of a business that's barely breaking even and overburdened by regulation, or a hard working, self-made success facing disproportionately higher taxes?

You won't get your way through hate. You might not even get your way... that's the American way. If you want your extreme, Somalia or North Korea are a few plane rides away. Presidents aren't here for you; they're here for us.

Your only concept of time is the time you've actually lived - Draft 1

My theory is your only concept of time is the time you have actually lived. Remember how a school year took forever to pass? Yet, as you age, the years fly by. As you live longer, one year becomes a smaller percentage of your overall notion of time.

First grade was the first time I remember thinking about the miserable experience of an actual year in school. Since I was not conceptualizing time before age seven I do not think those years should be accounted for in my overall conception of time.

Assuming I live to age 96, the following chart shows the real percentage of life I have lived at each year. Example: On my 32nd birthday, I was 59.65% of the way through my notion of a lifetime.

Modern Productivity = Shorter Employee Workweek

Time is your most precious commodity...

Morning Joe helped me connect some old thoughts. As we (1st worlders) become more productive and rely on technology to do our work, we should work fewer hours.

How many hours of housework do the washer and dryer save? How about the microwave, vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, lawnmower...? Do we spend the saved time on other housework or is it now devoted to leisure? I'd say it's mostly leisure.

The same should apply to the workplace. More productivity should shorten the workweek. Instead, it often seems to be cutting jobs. We have a fixation on the 35-40 hour work week. Maybe it's time that changed.

Blowback from such a suggestion could come from both employer and employee. Employers would lose some return from hiring costs and employees would lose a portion of their income due to reduced hours.

To avoid a vacuum on the next generation’s middle class, a future with a shorter employee workweek may be necessary. At first your compensation may see some reduction but job security (or a job) would return for those willing to work.
